We went to Prescott, AZ to view the 2012 Transit of Venus.
The next Transit of Venus will be in December, 2117. We set up
on a hill in Heritage Park. The weather was in the low 70's
and windy. It was nice to get out of the heat in Phoenix.
Our spot overlooked Willow Creek Lake. Heritage Park is very nice.
We brought two telescopes to watch the transit. A 50mm refractor was used for
solar projection. A 4" Maksutov was used with a Baader solar filter.

Daisy went with us. She enjoys travelling, but it was chilly
with the wind and shadows. She enjoyed sitting in the truck
in the sun.
